The Dean of Students at UMass Boston provides students with resources, services and opportunities for learning in support of the mission of the University. The Dean is available to assist students, answer questions, and advocate on behalf of students in the attainment of academic, career, and personal goals.
The Dean of Students:
- strives to maximize student opportunities for meaningful engagement, personal development, and academic success
- serves as a resource link for students, faculty, administrators, and parents/families
- provides programs and services to facilitate student learning outside the classroom
- promotes appreciation of diverse experiences and orientations for the campus community
- bridges the curricular and co-curricular aspects of student life
- promotes an engaging learning environment for students
- helps student reduce barriers to their success
